At my last gig, I wrote test automation for in-flight entertainment systems. My employer produced and installed these systems on nearly every major airline in the world today. The testing was at times rudimentary in nature but complex in practice because of the embedded and proprietary nature of the system and the environment.
Here’s a short vid of a late night “test of the test” in one of the aircraft simulation labs.
It demonstrates a script driving the user interface to launch a game and simulate a few actions. The script is running simultaneously on over 300 individual entertainment systems.
There is a stunning lack of narration due to the fact that I merely taped this to show a friend my engineering life at “the PAC”.
